Dr. Shull grew up in Higginsville, Missouri, and has lived in Columbia since 2012. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Biology from Missouri State University, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2011. Dr. Shull prioritizes learning the latest trends in dentistry and invests in continuing education to improve dental experiences for his patients.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Shull enjoys spending time with his wife, JoAnn, and two sons, Luke and Isaac. He might be reading lots of books or building train tracks with them, or gathering with his extended family to cheer on the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and Mizzou Tigers. His hobbies include cycling, reading, and running.
Lexis was born in Ottumwa, IA, grew up in Decatur, IL, and moved to MO in 2002. She graduated from the Columbia Career Center in May 2010, where she studied Surgical Technology, then graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Nichol’s Career Center in Jefferson City in May 2012. She is certified in CPR, Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Analgesia, the Essentials of Monitoring for Patients Undergoing Conscious or Deep Sedation, and completed a two-week Applied Behavior Analysis training with Easterseals Autism Services. Lexis is happy to be part of a supportive team and enjoys making patients smile. Outside of the office, she likes to go camping, fishing, and spend time outdoors with her two boys. Her youngest son has autism and she is very proud of the obstacles they’ve overcome together.
Nick grew up in Columbia for the first half of his life before moving to Kansas City for high school and a few years beyond. Now back in Columbia, he moved from the world of banking into dentistry. When not in the office he loves to listen to music, especially The Beatles, and has a pet pit bull. He loves to play basketball and watch the Kansas City Chiefs. Nick’s favorite part of the job is the patients: “The best part about my job is being able to help people in the community and making a difference in our patients’ lives every day.”
Ashton was born and raised in Jefferson City. She graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City with a four-year degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also the current past president for the Missouri Dental Hygiene Association, a proud member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Missouri Dental Board. Ashton’s favorite part of her job is laughing with her patients. She enjoys helping people overcome dental fears and anxiety and begin to establish trust. She appreciates building relationships with patients and becoming part of their lives. Ashton loves to travel, hear good music, hang with friends, savor a fantastic bottle of wine, and she says she’s a foodie at heart. Ashton adores her dog, Cara Belli, who was named after a dental term describing an extra cusp on a molar tooth called “the cusp of Carabelli” and says, “I’m a complete dental nerd!”
